About Me

meandlauren
Me and my daughter Lauren, the soon to be mother.

Hey Y’all! My name is Kirsten and I am a Memphis Suburbanite transplanted here from pretty much all over the country starting with a Los Angeles suburb. I design children’s clothing under the label OliBeli. I have been married for more than 28 years to the love of my life and we have 5 gorgeous daughters ranging in age from 7 years old to 26 years old. My second to the oldest, Lauren, was married last September and is now expecting her first daughter, Violet, in October so I will also add grandmother to my title!

I decided to start this blog to chronicle the steps I have and am taking to improve my health including sharing resources, tips, recipes and more.

I have a condition called Interstitial Cystitis, also known as Painful Bladder Syndrome which was officially diagnosed 7 years ago. It is an inflammatory disease and during a flare up, the pain is unimaginable. I have also been a chronic migraine sufferer for 20 years and have wide spread muscle spasms and chronic fatigue. I also suffered from hypoglycemia and hypothyroidism. I also suffered from chronic insomnia.

I have always tried to live a healthy lifestyle but after my fifth child was born, I really started noticing my health decline starting with the diagnosis of interstitial cystitis. I had always managed my hypothyroidism with medication, but even though my numbers on the blood work looked ok, I was still having the symptoms.  I had gotten to the point in my health where I didn’t want to go shopping by myself or be out for any length of time, because I was worried I would feel weak and tired and unable to finish shopping or worse, collapse. I had to rely on one of my children or my husband to take me shopping. I hardly ever worked out because I just didn’t have the energy to do it and often ended up with headaches and I spent a lot of time on the couch. I just wasn’t truly “living” my life.

When my oldest daughter Lauren announced to us that she was pregnant, I was over the moon! I was going to be a grandmother! My daughter Lauren has a wonderful career and wanted me to watch Violet when she went back to work. Of course I said yes! After I came down from my high, it hit me. How could I possible take care of a newborn baby when taking care of my 7 and 12 year old is taking every once of energy I could muster. I had to find a solution! I absolutely could not spend another moment feeling like this! I eat healthy. I exercise when I can muster up the energy, but not consistently because I rarely had the energy. I took supplements, etc. Something was missing!

About three and half months ago, a friend of mine through my youngest child’s school who had been asking me to try Plexus for quite some time and she finally convinced me to try Plexus. She said I had nothing to lose. If it didn’t work for me, I have a 60 day money back guarantee. So I said, “You know what? I’ll try it.”, fully thinking it was hype. I truly did not think it would work for me! Well, I saw an uptick in energy with the very first pink drink, but Rome wasn’t built in a day. After a week, I really noticed that I was starting to feel good. My appetite was curbed, I was able to stick to my healthy eating better and my sugar cravings were minimized. After two weeks, I was confident enough to take my kids out shopping without worry. Fast forward a few months and I am really feeling fantastic. I’ve added the Plexus X Factor, ProBio5, BioCleanse and Mega X to my daily regimen and I can feel myself getting better! I am truly seeing changes and I feel like I am getting my life back!

I hope you find my blog helpful in your life and please don’t hesitate to email me if have any questions or recipes you would like to share!
